Far East Furniture was founded in the 1950s by Mr. Hu Xuenian, known as the "King of Asian Rosewood." Starting in Japan and later expanding to Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and global markets, the brand became a leader in premium rosewood furniture by blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative designs.

In 2000, the "Redwood" national standard was officially released, and 29 types of wood in 5 genera and 8 categories were collectively referred to as redwood.
